In the late afternoon of December, we were delighted to be invited to meet with Erica Whyman, the Acting Artistic Director for RSC, and Nicola Salmon, the Deputy Manager of RSC’s Creative Placemaking and Public Programme. It was a great opportunity to discuss Copernicana’s work and Graham's Polish theatre play. We had a meaningful conversation about the history of the Polish community in Warwickshire, and the significance of preserving their heritage for the people of Stratford and future generations of Poles in the UK. Graham has devoted much of his time to creating an inspiring stage play, based on the accounts of some of the founding members of the Polish community in Stratford, and we are determined to see it come to fruition on RSC stage. Erica and Nicky were very intrigued by our project and enjoyed learning about the culture and history of our county’s largest ethnic minority. We are immensely grateful to Graham for sharing our stories with Erica and Nicky - we truly appreciate his friendship and dedication to bringing them to life.
